Firefly.Tree

I decided a while ago that I would find a name for me to use or at least get a name that hasn't been taken for emails and websites including Facebook names... it has taken me forever to  find one that sparked my interest enough to actually reserve the name... just in case it sticks.
I have picked the Firefly because I love the meaning (or at least one meaning) of the firefly.  I loved catching and chasing fireflies as a small child.  I have warm memories of being in a field during sunset and chasing them and being so happy.  Living in the Northwest, we don't have fireflies... so to tell my children of these bugs that fly around in the Mid-West, they are always fascinated.  So the bed time stories are embellished and they become magical creatures in a far off Kingdom.
I started thinking, how embellished are these stories really?  A firefly is an amazing gift.  the meaning has rang true to me and means something.  I find it something I need to remember and to live by.
The symbolic meaning of the firefly of course deals with light, illumination and the like. Although an important focus, the issue of light is not the high feature behind the symbolic meaning of the firefly. Rather, it is the messages this wonderous creature gives us while her light is off may be most profound to our growth.
An ordinary looking creature during the day, admittedly, the firefly is a remarkable sight when it glows at night. This is a symbolic message to us humans that although our physical appearance may seem one way - it is our internal makings - what is inside us (such as our spirit) that makes us shine from the inside out. That which is within us will always illuminate us and those around us.


to always shine and to be a light for others.  I think this is something i would be happy to do.    Operation figure out a name to call yourself is a success!
